Once Upon a Time in a Spring Meadow

Bee-eaters are masters of the skies. With incredible speed and precision, they catch flying insects—including butterflies—in mid-air. During the breeding season, the male often presents his catch to the female in a beautiful courtship ritual known as courtship feeding. If she accepts the gift, it helps strengthen their bond and signals his fitness as a mate.
