Little Stint – the tiny traveler

One of the smallest waders you can spot along our shores. At just 13–15 cm long, this delicate bird is a master of long-distance travel — migrating thousands of kilometers between Arctic breeding grounds and warmer wintering areas.

🔍 How to recognise it?

  • Tiny size, with quick, darting movements.

  • Fine black legs and a short, straight bill.

  • In autumn, a beautiful mix of grey-brown plumage, often blending perfectly into sand and mudflats.
